February 10,2025 – License Renewal Fee Postponement: On January 29, 2025, Governor Gavin Newsom issued Executive Order N-15-25, allowing eligible licensees impacted by the Los Angeles fires to postpone their 2025 license renewal fees until 2026. The order applies to Department of Consumer Affairs (DCA) licenses expiring between January 1, 2025, and June 30, 2025, for individuals and businesses located in the following affected ZIP codes:
90041, 90049, 90265, 90272, 90290, 90402, 91001, 91024, 91103, 91104, 91107, 91367, 93536
What This Means for Affected Licensees
- No immediate payment required: Eligible licensees can renew their licenses without paying the 2025 renewal fee. The postponed fees must be paid in 2026.
- Renewal process still required: Even though fees are deferred, licensees must complete their renewal process by their license expiration date.
- Automatic eligibility determination: The system will automatically mark eligible licenses as $0 due at the time of renewal.
